David Gordon is Planet Retail’s Research Director focusing on European grocery retailing. David joined Planet Retail in 2016 and is supported by a team of retail analysts based in London and Frankfurt. The team provide retailer insights, thought-provoking research and forecasts of the retail landscape for the Planet Retail portal, as well as delivering bespoke advisory projects and speaking engagements. David draws on experience from a career spanning 25 years in the food and grocery industry.
Most recently, David worked for Poundland plc (Europe’s largest single price discount chain) where he focused on the international development of this business into continental Europe. He has also been a Research Director at IGD and has held various operational roles in his earlier career with Safeway and Northern Foods. He is qualified with a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a BA (Hons) in Retail Marketing.
